Why Do Roosters Crow?

Roosters crow to mark their territory and warn nearby roosters not to trespass or mess with their hens. They also do it to gather the flock, and after mating with a hen.

Sometimes Louis, our rooster, crows out of annoyance. If the hens aren't following him or staying in the same place, he crows.
